The games that defined 2022 for the RPS guides team

Guides work is a very strange beast, and one that we don’t talk about as often as we maybe should. By its nature, we here in guidestown can feel a bit isolated from the rest of RPS. Our guides aren’t very visible to our regular readers. No one hops onto a website like this and says to themselves, “Well now! I wonder what guides have been written today that I can spend my time reading through!”. The vast majority of people who read our guides come straight from a Google search into something specific like “Can I romance Yennefer and…

The Sims 4 base game is now free to play on all platforms, how to claim

Expansions, kits, and packs still cost a pretty penny, however. It’s been almost a decade of The Sims 4, and most fans are yet to tire of the simulation game. During the Behind the Sims Summit on October 18, the title went free to play across all platforms. Now, The Sims 4 has had its fair share of free weekends or ‘free on Origin’ offers, but this appears to be it for the game. Still yet to watch the Behind the Sims Summit? Catch up right here. Developer, Maxis, didn’t leave us with just that, though. They also revealed what’s…

The Sims 4’s new patch fixes the incest

The Sims 4 received patch 1.90.375.1020 today, which has a short set of patch notes. One of the included bug fixes is that “The ‘Ask to be Girlfriend/Boyfriend’ Want now targets appropriate Sims”, which sounds innocuous enough. In reality, this is fixing a bug Rebecca reported on last week which was causing Sims to want to date their siblings. Read more

You read that right. Toddlers were becoming seniors in the blink of an eye, while other sims wanted to date their family members. If you have spent any amount of time with The Sims 4, or even appreciating one of the communities many content creators, you’ll know that the simulation title can be chaotic. Half the charm of The Sims 4 is undoubtedly wedding the weirdest of couples and ultimately finding unique ways to kill them off, but the latest bugs to plague players have taken this to an unprecedented level of strange. The Sims 4 Werewolves Game Pack urges you to embrace the full moon

After plenty of teasing, Maxis has finally announced the Werewolves Game Pack for The Sims 4. In the game pack, you can create and fully customize your werewolf using Create a Sim. Werewolves can be “fierce, playful, dramatic, or cuddly,” and all start with a beast and a Sim form that are linked. This provides parity and matches up to the other form. But you can also create a beast of your very own by unlinking the forms and making them distinct by editing face structure, ears, eyes, tufts, and more. The pack is set in Moonwood Mill, a former…

If you click on a link and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. Read our editorial policy. The Sims 4 players are getting a wedding-themed Game Pack, if a recent leak is any indication.
