Streamer, YouTuber and all-round internet celebrity IShowSpeed has recently been helping one of the biggest TV stations in Europe, Sky Sports, with its broadcasts of English Premier League matches. That was, reportedly, until the executives at the channel found out about a video that went viral back in April.

It should come as no surprise at this point that Kotaku is a pro-One Piece website on account of the manga being a crazy good read for nearly 25 years and by virtue of it being the only series to have Nico Robin in it. While some folks have yet to finally raise their anchors and venture into the manga’s 1051 chapters (I’m looking at you, reader), one Twitch streamer proved the massive undertaking of reading the entirety of the manga can be done in one non-stop stream.

Cult-hit gaming channel G4 has only been back for a few months after its nearly decade-long hiatus, and already the hosts are fed up with some of the assholes in the audience. Former esports commentator and new Xplay co-host, Indiana “Froskurinn” Black, specifically called out the crude sexism of viewers, online commentators, and other randos that she still faces in gaming in the year 2021.

Amazon Studios are “nearing a deal” to develop a TV series based on Mass Effect, according to a recent Deadline report. Excellent stuff. I’m all for it! If Mass Effect were to be adapted into anything, I’d much rather it be a potentially long-running series rather than a film so it has enough time to establish its excellent sci-fi setting. However, we need to talk about what story Amazon could potentially take from the games. To me, it seems likely they’d follow the trilogy, which I reckon is the right move. But I don’t think we need to see more…

The studio behind Death Stranding have announced they’re opening a new division in Los Angeles to enter the worlds of television, film, and music. Kojima Productions have confirmed no specific projects or plans yet. Even as someone who has a lot of time and enthusiasm for Kojima’s self-serious wacky plots, I hope the plan isn’t for anything as banal as a Death Stranding movie. Various folks behind Netflix series including The Witcher and Shadow And Bone have plans to develop films or shows set in the World Of Darkness. That’s the goth fantasy universe which houses tabletop RPGs like Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse, as well as video games including the venerated Bloodlines. They haven’t yet announced any specific project yet (nor indicated where they might find homes), but here’s my pitch: a mystery show starring a Malkavian private eye. Read more
