NLC Division 1 teams confirmed for 2022: MNM Gaming qualify for Division 1 as Resolve reach Division 2

The ten teams for the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC), the European Regional League (ERL) for the UK, Ireland and Nordics, have been locked in. Nordic sides NYYRIKKI, Bifrost and Vanir, UK/Danish esports org Absolved and UK org MNM Gaming have progressed through the NLC Division 1 qualifier to reach the Spring 2022 NLC. They will join 00 Nation (formerly known as Nordavind), BT Excel (the academy side of Excel Esports), Riddle, Singularity and Astralis Talent, who have already qualified for the NLC next year. Update (October 13th 2021): British esports host and interviewer Freya Spiers has joined to the CSGO PGL Major 2021 broadcast talent line-up as a stage host. The news comes after PGL CEO Silviu Stroie also confirmed on Twitter that broadcast talent will be live from the Avicii Arena (previously the plan was for them to be based at the PGL Studio in Bucharest and casting remotely). PGL Major 2021: Thorin, Richard Lewis, Machine and more join broadcast talent line-up for first CSGO Major in two years

A barrage of big British broadcast brains and names have been added to the PGL Major 2021 talent line-up. It’s the first CSGO Major in over two years, after the StarLadder Berlin Major in August and September 2019, and will see a live crowd gather at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm from October 26th to November 7th 2021. UK talent and companies recognised in 2021 Esports Awards industry nominations – new nominations include Mac, Caedrel, Pansy and more

The Esports Awards has this evening revealed more finalists for this year’s industry categories, and there are a host of UK-based talent included. Today, it was announced that UK coaches up for awards include Mac and MarkyB, plus there’s analyst Caedrel, colour casters Vedius and Johnnyboi_i, and play-by-play casters Machine, ODPixel and Pansy up for awards. Previously, this year’s nominees with UK offices included the likes of Dexerto, Hitmarker, The Story Mob, Hitmarker, Blast, Faceit and more. Astralis Talent acquires Tricked Esport’s League of Legends NLC spot

Astralis’ academy development scheme, Astralis Talent, has acquired its spot in the NLC from outgoing organisation Tricked Esport. The Danish orgs struck a deal that will see Astralis’ academy team play in the NLC in 2022, working under their main team which of course will still be taking part in the higher-tier LEC as usual. In an announcement post, Tricked said they have recommended Astralis signs contracts with all of their current League of Legends players and staff. The 2021 Women in Games Awards took place last night, with a host of top esports talent acknowledged across the globe. In terms of the UK talent recognised, esports host Frankie Ward won the Most Influential Esports Host award, while Rainbow Six talent Emi ‘Fluke’ Donaldson was awarded Most Influential Esports Shoutcaster or Analyst. The University of Roehampton – which launched a women in esports scholarship last year – picked up the University or College Games or Esports Diversity Initiative award. Riot Games has announced the broadcast talent line-up for the Wild Rift: Origin Series Championship taking place between September 24th and 26th 2021. The event will see some of the best Wild Rift players EMEA/MENA battle it out in Stockholm for the chance to be crowned the Wild Rift: Origin Series champions, as well as taking home the lion’s share of €150,000.
