UK YouTubers to compete in Clash of Creators football charity match raising money for MIND

Online stars WroeToShaw, Morgz, JaackMaate, ImAlexx, Spencer Owen (pictured left), Sharky (right) and more are raising money for the MIND mental health charity. Many of the YouTubers taking part in the Clash of Creators Football Match are from the UK. Clash of Creators is a charity football match featuring some of the most well-known online influencers in the UK, plus a selection of up-and-coming creators. Frazier Kay to sue Coffeezilla over Save the Kids crypto investigation

The legal representatives of Frazier Kay (pictured left), the British content creator that was recently booted out of FaZe Clan for his involvement in a scandalous Save the Kids cryptocurrency operation, have threatened to sue a journalist who helped expose it. Coffeezilla (pictured right) has claimed he received a cease and desist letter from Kay’s lawyers, demanding he retract his public statements about Kay or face litigation. They claim Coffeezilla’s statements about Kay are ‘false and defamatory’ and that he could ‘lose millions of dollars in revenue’ for publishing them. Fnatic Network streamer programme reports ‘industry-first’ 50/50 equal gender split

Fnatic, the London-based global esports organisation, is championing diversity among its content creators after reporting a 50/50 gender split in its grassroots programme, Fnatic Network.  This means that of the 52 streamers signed up to this programme – which celebrates its first full year of operation today – 26 are male and 26 are female. Fnatic says this is an industry first. Fnatic Network is a content creator academy that aims to scout and engage with top streamers and take them through a three-tiered programme, which can ultimately lead them to a contract with Fnatic or another org. Guild announces it’s the world’s fastest-growing esports organisation in latest financial results after winning FNCS All-Star Showdown

UK-based esports organisation Guild Esports has detailed its growth in a financial report covering October 2020 to March 2021. The org – backed by David Beckham – had an audience of 160,000 as of March 31st 2021. This has risen to almost 800,000 since then, increasing by 50% month-on-month, as Guild hopes to reach the 1m mark by the end of its current financial year at the end of September. If you include Guild’s roster of pro players and content creators, this reach extended to 8m as of March 31st, or around 15.6m now (not including Beckham’s 125m+ followers). Continue…

UK Yogscast streamer Pedguin banned on Twitch for use of emotes including a Winnie the Pooh cartoon posterior and hot tub

Peter ‘Pedguin’ Mann, UK streamer and member of the UK-based entertainment group Yogscast, has been banned on Twitch. Pedguin says the ban was due to his emotes, and white Twitch hadn’t apparently told him what was specifically wrong with his latest emotes, it did previously state previous emotes were removed due to ‘imagery of sexualised content or nudity’. Pedguin had previously submitted slightly different versions of the below Winnie the Pooh-style emotes, which were removed by Twitch, prompting him to make tweaks and changes.
