Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 is over now, and as ever, the seven-day speedrunning marathon introduced us to some legendary moments.AGDQ 2021 is the second-highest earning marathon in the event’s colorful history, raising an impressive $2,758,847 in donations from the game-playing public for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. That means this year’s charity donation is second only to AGDQ 2020.In case you couldn’t keep up with the breakneck speed of the proceedings (and who could blame you?) we’ve collected some of the most notable runs from this year for you below, so you can enjoy all the skills on show in…
Seven-day speedrunning marathon Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 has ended, raising a brilliant $2,758,847 million (around £2 million) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It’s the second-highest amount ever raised at the event, right behind last year’s winter marathon, which is pretty good going considering this year was the first fully digital AGDQ. Despite not having a roaring crowd sat behind them, the speedrunners still put on an excellent show from the comfort of their own homes. Here are a few of my fave runs from the week. (more…)
Once you learn that a movement glitch in Cyberpunk 2077 lets V bound along streets faster than any motor vehicle, it’s even more galling that everyone in Night City is bugging her to buy their old cars. Yep, bunnyhopping in Cyberpunk is real, and I’m delighted. With careful timing, V’s robot legs can send her zooming. It looks wild. Oh, they’re racing to have sex as soon as possible. Of course they are. (more…)
7 minutes! It’d take me thrice as long just to get through character creation, at least. Baldur’s Gate 3 may only offer a portion of the final planned experience right now, but even that lengthy chunk has been boiled down to a mere 7 minutes by speedrunner Cary “Professor Palmer” Palmer, who’s figured out a way to quite literally jump through the entire thing in the blink of an eye. By Cian Maher, Monday, 31 August 2020 14:44 GMT A Super Mario 64 streamer recently set a brand new world record while playing through the game using nothing but an electronic drum set. The streamer in question – who goes by the handle CZR – regularly publishes a mix of drum covers and gaming videos to his YouTube channel. Occasionally, he combines the two and speedruns iconic games using a pair of drumsticks instead of an ordinary controller.Check out the video below, which shows CZR speed-drumming his way through Super Mario 64 in under 30 minutes. It’s worth noting that this is…
It is, to still somehow understate things, an incredibly difficult time to be a teacher. Around the country, many schools are set to reopen this fall, but with covid-19 case numbers continuing to soar, danger will inevitably lurk in familiar halls. What will happen once class is in session? Will things even get that far? For now, one high school teacher, Zachary “Jaychalke” McCarter, is focusing on injustices he can actually do something about—namely, the quiet ravages of lunch debt.
