Smooya ‘open to offers’ in Valorant and CSGO after being released from Movistar

British CSGO pro player Owen ‘smooya’ Butterfield says he’s open to joining a different CSGO or Valorant team after being released from Movistar Riders, making him a free agent. The AWPer previously said he wanted to wake up every morning and play/stream Counter-Strike, and that’s the only reason he hasn’t gone to Valorant, but now it looks like he’s more open to switching to Riot’s 5v5 shooter. Smooya joins Fnatic CSGO team on three-month trial after being released from Movistar

British CSGO pro player Owen ‘smooya’ Butterfield has joined London-based organisation Fnatic on a three-month trial, after being released from Movistar Riders. The news comes after smooya helped Fnatic reach the IEM Closed Qualifier last weekend as a stand-in, forming a temporary UK trio with Alex and Mezii. Smooya helps Fnatic reach IEM Closed Qualifier forming a temporary UK trio with Alex and Mezii

British CSGO player Owen ‘smooya’ Butterfield stepped in as a temporary player for Fnatic on the weekend, and showed an exciting glimpse of a potential UK core roster. He stepped in after Fnatic AWPer Jackinho was moved to the bench and Fnatic were able to strike a deal with Movistar to enlist the services of smooya temporarily. Dexerto’s Richard Lewis broke the news of smooya’s benching yesterday and it was confirmed by Movistar Riders and smooya himself today. Movistar has made some changes to its CSGO roster, outlined in this announcement post. They now have an all-Spanish starting roster, with Alejandro ‘mopoz’ Fernández-Quejo and Alejandro ‘alex’ Masanet being joined by new signings Álvaro ‘SunPayus’ García , Raúl ‘DeathZz’ Jordan and David ‘Dav1g’ Granado.
