The RPS Selection Box: Hayden’s bonus games of the year 2022

These honourable mentions lists are a lovely little wrap up of games we couldn’t squeeze into the 2022 Advent Calendar, and mine is also a useful reminder that I didn’t just spend the entire year playing Elden Ring. Lots of time was spent as a lowly tarnished, getting smacked around by big fucken madlads with a dragon for an arm, sure. But I also got lost in a thrilling narrative adventure, laughed at flatulent renditions of our national anthem, swept up loot in Al Mazrah, and became enamoured with a lil gator. Here’s to 2022, everyone. Read more

Modern Warfare 2 suplexes Christmas with festive multiplayer makeover

Shipmas arrives in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 tomorrow, with the game’s Christmas update for multiplayer. The reimagined version of the classic Shipment map – introduced with last week’s Season 01 Reloaded midseason update – will be festooned with decorations, along with the bodies of your enemies. COD now has its own Santa, too, and I wouldn’t want to tangle with him. You can see what I mean, and catch a glimpse of the holiday version of Shipment, by watching the trailer below. Read more

Warzone 2.0 gets a temporary Rocket League mode on Wednesday

Football may not have come home this year, but it is coming to Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0. A limited-time mode introduced with Season 01 Reloaded’s launch on Wednesday will see two teams of three knocking a big football about on ATVs equipped with special pulse abilities, in classic Rocket League fashion. The developers are also bringing back Mini Royale, popping up a new building in the DMZ mode, and adding a new map to the multiplayer mode that you actually need to own Modern Warfare 2 for. Call Of Duty Warzone 2 review: a worthy successor

Not long ago I watched my Warzone Legacy, a two-minute-long compilation of my best stats from the first game, which included my K/D ratio and hours played and the like. It was undoubtedly produced by AI to feed the social media machine, yet the cold, hard numbers transported me back to the warm embrace of Verdansk, a battle royale map my mates and escaped to almost every evening as the pandemic raged. The silly 120 second video shot me right in the feelings. My history with the first game means that I enter Warzone 2 with an embarrassing tangle of…

Warzone 2 patch makes armor piercing ammo no longer pierce armor

In one of the strangest updates we’ve seen to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty has decided AP rounds no longer PA. What do you call armor-piercing ammo that doesn’t pierce armor? That’s the question hot on the lips of the Call of Duty community right now as it comes to terms with a very strange update from the latest patch in Warzone 2. Have you seen Warzone 2 in action yet? We’ve already taken a look at what the Modern Warfare 2 patch notes contain over in our dedicated article, but there’s another set of changes…

The Cha Cha Slide arrives in Warzone 2

Warzone 2 is many things: battle royale, free-to-play, chock-full of guns. One thing I hadn’t thought of it as, at least until now, was a dance simulator, but then I’ve never used Tiktok. A cunning Warzone 2 player has managed to convince the enemy team to abandon their hostilities and indulge in a spot of shuffling to DJ Casper’s classic turn of the millennium hit Cha Cha Slide. It’s an odd choice, particularly considering they’re jumping around in a cemetery, but each to their own. Read more

Bad news for those who hoped to avoid hardware-enhanced players in Warzone 2. The Cronus Zen — which allows owners to mod their equipment to provide unfair advantages — seems to work in Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2. One Youtuber — Lethal Panda — has multiple videos uploaded on the Cronus Zen, including one that shows how to set up a “soft aimbot” for Warzone 2,…

Warzone 2.0’s loot system has players stumped and frustrated already

Numerous complaints are flooding online? Is there substance here? Or just salt? Warzone 2.0 has a new looting system, thanks to an expanded backpack feature that offers greater space and as such looting options when you manage to kill someone or come across something tasty lying around Al Mazrah. The question on some players’ minds — is it too complicated? This comes only a day since the launch of Warzone 2.0, as the community runs around and plays with the habits fostered thanks to two-plus years of the original Warzone and its frantic and hasty looting system. Whereas before items…

An unbelievable shot brings back fond memories of trick shots long past Remember Call of Duty: Black Ops, the military First Person Shooter released from the clattering cages over at Raven Software and Treyarch all the way back in 2010. For some, it stays a fan-favourite for those with a taste for a touch of retro Call of Duty action, general nostalgia, or the heyday of trick shots with a variety of sniper rifles and of course the trusty grenade launcher.
