Gfinity to operate Coca-Cola Copa Challenge Football Manager 2021 esports tournament and separate ASK4 FIFA 22 competition for those in student accommodation

UK-based esports company Gfinity has been named the tournament operator for the Football Manager Coca-Cola COPA Challenge, presented by The Coca Cola Company. Gfinity has entered into a commercial agreement with Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (Coca-Cola HBC) as part of the activity. The Coca-Cola COPA Challenge is a new tournament which will see gaming influencers compete against one another in the popular Football Manager simulation game developed by British developer Sports Interactive and published by Sega. The Division 6ix Season Pass provides options for ‘regular professional coaching sessions, exclusive premium membership events, priority access to limited UK esports tournaments and early access to some of Division 6ix’s upcoming projects’. Guild announces it’s the world’s fastest-growing esports organisation in latest financial results after winning FNCS All-Star Showdown

UK-based esports organisation Guild Esports has detailed its growth in a financial report covering October 2020 to March 2021. The org – backed by David Beckham – had an audience of 160,000 as of March 31st 2021. This has risen to almost 800,000 since then, increasing by 50% month-on-month, as Guild hopes to reach the 1m mark by the end of its current financial year at the end of September. If you include Guild’s roster of pro players and content creators, this reach extended to 8m as of March 31st, or around 15.6m now (not including Beckham’s 125m+ followers). Continue…

British LEC caster and former pro League of Legends player, Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont, has joined South Korean esports organisation DRX as its official global streamer. The former League of Legends pro player – who left Excel Esports in late 2020 to focus on his career as a caster – has more than 100,000 followers on Twitch and 76,000 on Twitter. Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin joins new UK esports org Semper Fortis as ambassador

English professional footballer Dominic Calvert-Lewin has made his first move into esports as an ambassador for Semper Fortis Esports, a new UK-based organisation. Semper Fortis listed on the Aquis Stock Exchange in April, with £2.6m raised, and Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell is on board as a non-executive director.
