Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti review: the first RTX 40 series GPU worth buying

Here it is, then, the RTX 4070 Ti – the 12GB RTX 4080 that wasn’t. “Unlaunching” this GPU, rebranding it, and releasing it for £100 / $100 less may have bruised egos at Nvidia, but at least it’s left us with an intriguing silicone prospect. Finally, there’s a high-end, DLSS 3-capable, Ada Lovelace architecture-based graphics card that doesn’t cost four figures. Read more

Get a bona fide 165Hz gaming monitor for £120

165Hz gaming monitors are getting so cheap these days, that it doesn’t make much sense to pick up anything less for gaming if you’re buying new. Case in point is this MSI Artymis MAG242C gaming monitor, which offers a 24-in span, 1080p resolution and curved VA panel for £120 after a £30 discount at Currys. Read more

MSI Oculux NXG253R review: Nvidia Reflex is sharp, but 360Hz is still unnecessary

Even if you’re not “into” PC gaming hardware, spend enough time in its orbit and you’ll eventually develop a healthy scepticism for a specific type of electro-trickery. The kind that promises, naturally with the right purchases, to help you shoot better or drive cars faster or generally be a more PRO ELITE WINNER in competitive games. For me, there have been two such technologies I’ve never really bought into: ultra-high 360Hz monitor refresh rates, and Nvidia Reflex, a kind of setup-wide latency reduction system. Now, having spent some quality time with the MSI Oculux NXG253R – which features both –…

Get a 280mm MSI AIO liquid cooler for £50 (half-price)

280mm is my favourite AIO liquid cooler size – cheaper than 360mm coolers while offering better performance per square inch – you just need a case that can accommodate the slightly larger fans. Normally getting a good AiO of this size costs around £100 to £180, but right now Amazon is offering the MSI MAG CoreLiquid 280R for half price: just £50. That’s an awesome value for a high-performance CPU cooler that even includes RGB lighting. Read more

Get an MSI RTX 3080 Ti OC for £1054 with code at CCL

Looking for a GPU? The RTX 3080 Ti offers comparable performance to the RTX 3090 while costing far less, and today there’s an OC model available at the card’s UK RRP. It’s an Ventus 3X OC model from MSI, with a hefty triple-slot thermal solution that ought to keep the card cool and quiet even running at its factory overclocked 1695MHz. To get the discounted price, use code SAVE75 to knock a healthy £75 off the list price. That brings it down to £1054, just £5 more than the UK RRP and a great deal for an OC model. You…

How the esports community reacted to the cancellation of the CIS League of Legends and Valorant leagues

Yesterday it was announced that the League of Legends Continential League (LCL) and the Valorant Regional League for the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) region had been cancelled due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Here’s a look at how the community reacted. The effects of Russia’s war in Ukraine have spread far and wide, with sports, esports and other industries impacted. MSI 2021 preview with LCK caster Chronicler and LPL caster Munchables

The League of Legends Mid-Seasonal Invitational (MSI) kicks off in Iceland on May 6th 2021, after a two-year break due to the pandemic, bringing together championship-winning teams from Riot’s different regional leagues. While MSI is often dominated by the Chinese LPL and Korean LCK teams, in 2019 G2 Esports and Team Liquid bucked that trend by making the finals in Taiwan. With the help of Megalodontus, ENUK editor Dom Sacco speaks to Dutch caster Chronicler (pictured left, from the LCK) and Brit Munchables (right, from the LPL) to get their insights before MSI begins. Interview with EU League of Legends casters Noa and Carmeline on women in esports: “On one hand I know how important the exposure is for brands and media, and I know that we need it, but on the other hand I get angry when I see them using us for marketing, and only speak up about our problems one day per year”

March was Women’s History Month, and the esports industry took the chance to celebrate the many talented and often times overlooked individuals within the space. Some say esports is getting more diverse, but there are still many challenges that women face in esports. There aren’t many women within the League of Legends European Regional Leagues (LoL ERLs). Ainhoa ‘Noa’ Campos (pictured left) and Carmen ‘Carmeline’ Junquera (right) are two such personalities, with Noa casting the Spanish LVP SuperLiga and Carmeline casting the Baltic Masters (and NUEL’s Women’s University tournament). MSI have announced their first SSDs, and they’re incredibly fast

You probably know MSI from their graphics cards, motherboards, gaming laptops or even their extensive line-up of mice, keyboards and headsets, but now the component maker has announced they’re going to start making SSDs as well. Unveiled last night during their CES press conference, MSI have already got two NVMe drives lined up for launch later this year, and both of them will support the new PCIe 4.0 interface to take on next-gen drives such as Samsung’s 980 Pro and WD’s Black SN850.
