Alphari makes light of being benched by Team Liquid with playful tweet

Welsh League of Legends player Barney ‘Alphari’ Morris has published a lighthearted tweet subtly referencing Team Liquid’s decision to bench him. The top-laner was benched by Liquid on the weekend after the opening game of the North American LCS 2021 Summer Season, which saw Liquid lose to TSM and Alphari go 2/3/9 as Lee Sin. Team Liquid head coach Joshua ‘Jatt’ Leesman announced on Twitter that Thomas ‘Jenkins’ Tran would be stepping in to the top-lane position ‘for at least the rest of the weekend’, where he played the remaining two games – a win and a loss. Riot announces main partner for 12 League of Legends European Regional Leagues including UK/Nordics NLC, as well as the EU Masters, LCL and LEC

Riot Games has announced that KitKat will be a main partner across several of its League of Legends tournaments in Europe. KitKat will be a main partner of the LEC and EU Masters through to 2023, and of the Continental League (LCL), 12 European Regional Leagues (ERLs) – including UK/Nordics league the NLC. This makes KitKat the first confectionary brand partner of the NLC.  “This makes KitKat one of the farthest reaching partners we’ve ever had, and we couldn’t be happier to have them with us,” Riot said in a press release. UK qualifier details revealed: Red Bull Solo Q 1v1 League of Legends tournament returns for 2021, with Sjokz on board as brand ambassador once again

UPDATE (May 17th 2021): Red Bull has announced details of the UK qualifiers for Red Bull Solo Q. The first national qualifier takes place on June 12th, which players can sign up for now on the Red Bull Solo Q Battlefy page. The Red Bull Solo Q UK circuit begins with the first online qualifiers in June: UK Qualifier 1: June 12th UK Qualifier 2: June 26th  UK Offline Qualifier: July 4th, Pixel Bar, Leeds Winners of each qualifier will be invited to compete in the UK final in July, and the UK champion will then face-off against the best duelists…

March was Women’s History Month, and the esports industry took the chance to celebrate the many talented and often times overlooked individuals within the space. Some say esports is getting more diverse, but there are still many challenges that women face in esports. There aren’t many women within the League of Legends European Regional Leagues (LoL ERLs).
