Education business The Strive Group and UK esports organisation LDN UTD have announced ‘UTD EDN’ to help young people secure careers in esports and gaming. The Strive Group will run eight-week traineeship courses under its new Esports Academy, with the goal to help students to secure a job, apprenticeship or further education. They are aimed at young people from a disadvantaged background or those who didn’t get accepted into university. UK and Ireland esports orgs join video platform Recast as they look to monetise content

A trio of UK and Ireland esports organisations have partnered with video platform Recast which connects rights holders, fans and brands. UK esports organisations LDN UTD and Viperio have joined the platform, as have Irish org Katana Gaming. They’re also joined by Dutch org and FIFA academy Team Gullit, which is owned by football legend Ruud Gullit, and the four newcomers join JLingz Esports, which launched a Recast channel last year. UK esports organisation LDN UTD has announced that celebrity and musician Connor Ball has joined the team as a co-owner. LDN UTD reach VCT 2022 EMEA Stage 1 Challengers after beating Excel in closed qualifier lower bracket final

UK esports organisation LDN UTD are celebrating after securing passage to the first Valorant EMEA Challengers event of the year. They defeated Excel Esports 3-0 in the closed qualifier lower bracket final on the weekend to qualify for Challengers Stage 1. Excel will be disappointed after failing to qualify, after falling 3-1 to G2 in the upper bracket final then losing 3-0 to LDN UTD in the lower bracket final. Vexed, Coalesce and RiSky among Epic34 winners, Epic.LAN also announces tournament platform partnership with LDN UTD

Another action-packed Epic.LAN event took place last weekend at the Kettering Conference Centre, with esports teams and gamers in the UK joining up to play together. In terms of the esports tournaments this time around, Valorant, CSGO and StarCraft 2 were the main competitions that took place, plus there were also a series of fun tournaments in F1 2020, Fall Guys, Uno and Mortal Kombat 11, as well as the classic pub quiz of course. LDN UTD go undefeated in Valorant LVP Rising Series 4, announce partnership with Durham University for esports tournaments, scholarships and more

It’s been a busy few days for UK esports organisation LDN UTD. On October 20th they announced an esports collaboration with Durham University, and a day later their Valorant team won the LVP Rising Series 4, before playing in the Red Bull Home Ground qualifier. The two events were a clash for LDN UTD, who managed to (in their words) ‘speedrun’ their way to victory in the LVP tournament, beating fellow UK org Tenstar in the final, before playing in the separate qualifier versus Ninjas in Pyjamas. LDN UTD launches design-your-own NFT initiative for young people supported by the Rio Ferdinand Foundation

UK esports organisation LDN UTD has given participants of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s programmes the opportunity to design their own NFTs for the LDN UTD marketplace. The org will donate 10% of all profits to the charity, which was set up by the former Manchester United and England footballer to ‘support young people to tackle the inequalities they face and achieve their potential’. An NFT, or non-fungible token, is a unique digital asset (usually an image or a piece of digital art) stored on a blockchain. LDN UTD turned around a 0-1 deficit to win the League of Legends UKEL grand final 3-1 against NOX Esports today. Game one saw NOX top-laner ArcaneTeddy run rampant, going 10/0/1 as Irelia, helping his side take the mountain soul and finish the game in half an hour. Blast win a trio of trophies at new UK-based esports business awards show GameFace

Esports tournament organiser Blast won a hat trick of trophies at the inaugural GameFace Awards ceremony last week, which was held online. GameFace is a new business-oriented esports awards show, aiming to ‘make heroes out of the people behind esports organisations and to connect them to global brands’. The ceremony celebrated everything from the best social media and internal events teams to the best partnership activations and tournament experiences. UK esports org LDN UTD and the Rio Ferdinand Foundation have today announced UTD Against Racism, an online event empowering the young community through esports.
