PS5 owners played and bought more games compared to PS4 at launch

By Dom Peppiatt 13 May 2021 10:27 GMT Though there’s ongoing concern over the scarcity of PS5 consoles, Sony has recorded some pretty impressive figures about the system’s use since it launched late in 2020.As per a new article on Wired, Sony has recorded an 81% increase in playtime on the new-generation console, compared to what the PS4 enjoyed in the same time period.Granted, there are slightly different circumstances this time around: there’s a global pandemic keeping people indoors, and backwards compatibility means that you can play your entire PS4 library (more or less) on the new hardware, too.Watch on…

Black Is Magic: How Magic: The Gathering Is Transforming One Teacher’s Game Club

On the wall in Mike Lawton’s classroom rests a cardboard cut-out of a Black man. It’s not Martin Luther King Jr. or any other famous Black figure from history—it’s a mage—dark skinned and powerful-looking as a spell shoots from his fingertips. It’s Teferi, one of Magic: The Gathering’s most powerful main characters known as Planeswalkers, and he’s Lawton’s students’ favorite.

The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon

Score distribution: Negative: 0 out of 14 Even though it’s disappointing that there are no new companions, noteworthy enemies, or gameplay systems, Peril on Gorgon is excellent for many of the same reasons that the main game was excellent. Its well-paced and immaculately written story, rock-solid comedic foundation, and open-ended RPG gameplay have carried over without losing their luster and are, in some ways, at their best here. Gorgon might be a dangerous rock that has been overrun by hostile Marauders, but it’s one heck of a spot for a hilarious and engaging multi-hour tale of intrigue. Peril on Gorgon…

Star Renegades

The Indie Game Website Sep 7, 2020 90 Star Renegades is an excellent game, one that will keep you entertained for as long as you’ll let it. It’s pretty, the gameplay is exquisite, and ultimately, it’s just a lot of fun. The fact that it’s also got some of the most interesting systems of a roguelike I’ve played helps a lot too. The difficulty can be a bit wonky in places, and the writing doesn’t always hit, but overall, Star Renegades is a deceptively deep and really rewarding game that’ll beat you over the head just as often as it’ll…
