FIFA 23 Review: EA’s last ever FIFA game isn’t quite a clinical finish

Find out how the final football game in EA Sports’ long-running series performs in our FIFA 23 review! If you’ll allow me to torture an analogy, trying to make the perfect FIFA game must feel a bit like Guardiola’s vintage Barcelona side trying to beat Jose Mourinho’s 2009-10 Champions League-winning Inter team. You can do seemingly everything right, but for all the swashbuckling beauty and idealism of the world’s best attacking teams, there’s nothing like the obstinate force of reality to bring everything tumbling down. FIFA 23 takes another crack at the impossible balancing act that presents itself to EA…

Is EA SPORTS FC another potential scrap in the licensing battle between FIFA and UEFA?

There’s a new age of football games coming – and they’ll be taking over a messy legacy. The announcement of EA SPORTS FC has shown yet again that the fiercest competition in football isn’t the Premier League title race, but the licensing battle between UEFA, FIFA and the top leagues around Europe. Maybe it’s just because my team is having an awful season, but it really feels like football is melting. The end-of-year football game rush will be odd this year. I’m not a Barcelona fan, and I’ve only been to Camp Nou once, but I took Lionel Messi moving…
