LDN UTD launches design-your-own NFT initiative for young people supported by the Rio Ferdinand Foundation

UK esports organisation LDN UTD has given participants of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation’s programmes the opportunity to design their own NFTs for the LDN UTD marketplace. The org will donate 10% of all profits to the charity, which was set up by the former Manchester United and England footballer to ‘support young people to tackle the inequalities they face and achieve their potential’. An NFT, or non-fungible token, is a unique digital asset (usually an image or a piece of digital art) stored on a blockchain. British YouTuber Frazier Kay has spoken out over his involvement in the Save the Kids cryptocurrency scam, which saw several people lose money. Kay now says that while he takes responsibility for his involvement in Save the Kids, it was fellow British internet personality Sam Pepper who allegedly ‘fucked him over’ by changing the anti-whale code at the last minute, allowing those involved to dump their tokens early, causing the price to crash. UK YouTubers to compete in Clash of Creators football charity match raising money for MIND

Online stars WroeToShaw, Morgz, JaackMaate, ImAlexx, Spencer Owen (pictured left), Sharky (right) and more are raising money for the MIND mental health charity. Many of the YouTubers taking part in the Clash of Creators Football Match are from the UK. Clash of Creators is a charity football match featuring some of the most well-known online influencers in the UK, plus a selection of up-and-coming creators. 32 teams to take part in $3m charity PUBG Mobile World Invitational next week, including UK side Lakonostra MVP

PUBG Mobile and Gamers without Borders have revealed the first PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI), which will see 32 teams representing their countries for a $3m charity pool starting on July 22nd. The PMWI will be an online event split into two divisions, with a champion being crowned for each. UPDATE (May 13th 2021): Facebook Gaming has dropped both Jeff Leach and NitroLukeDX following the below incidents, reports Bleeding Cool. “We expect our Facebook Gaming partners to model a high standard of conduct,” Facebook said in a statement. “We have ended our contract with Jeff Leach and terminated his partner status with Facebook Gaming. Jeff Leach, British streamer, stand-up comedian and the voice of Ghost in recent Call of Duty games (pictured left), has announced he is taking legal action against fellow British content creator NitroLukeDX (pictured right). NitroLukeDX, aka Luke Pickering, published a video on May 7th containing several foul-mouthed out-of-context clips of Jeff Leach followed by a discussion panel between women gamers denouncing his behaviour. The first clip is from Jeff’s 2017 appearance on a show known as Tauntfest, where he spoke in a derogatory manner about female streamer ZombiUnicorn, who declined to attend because of him being on the show. Seven-day speedrunning marathon Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 has ended, raising a brilliant $2,758,847 million (around £2 million) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It’s the second-highest amount ever raised at the event, right behind last year’s winter marathon, which is pretty good going considering this year was the first fully digital AGDQ.
