Corsair’s low profile K70 mechanical keyboard is on sale for the lowest we’ve seen

We first reviewed a Corsair K70 keyboard back in 2013, and it’s still a great, reliable mechanical board seven years later. This isn’t exactly the same keyboard—it’s actually a slimmer low profile variant with Cherry MX Speed Switches, which are linear switches like Reds or Blacks but with an even faster actuation. The idea is Speed Silvers are meant to make your reactions just a little bit faster. The previous lowest price we’ve seen this keyboard go for is $100, so this Best Buy deal is a good one. It shaves another $10 off that price. And unlike some of…

The Monster Hunter movie trailer shows off 5 familiar monsters

The Monster Hunter movie’s first full trailer is out in the wild, following a very brief teaser earlier in the month. We get to see Milla Jovovich, Tony Jaa, and their soldier pals get into plenty of peril, but more importantly we get a good look at some of the lovely monsters that have been rudely interrupted by these gun-toting humans.  First, let’s get up to speed. Captain Artemis (Jovovich) and her squad of soldiers find themselves transported to the world of Monster Hunter by a sandstorm—very Wizard of Oz—and quickly discover that their guns are no match for big…

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Animus decides which version of Eivor is canon

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you will always play as Viking warrior Eivor, but at any point you can select a female or male version of the character. After revealing the female version, Ubisoft clarified that both were canon, and thanks to a brief clip we now have a slightly better idea of how that works.  IGN recently hosted a series of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla adverts with some comedians and a small amount of game footage, including a snippet from a character selection screen. Access the Animus spotted it and shared it on Twitter, leading narrative director Darby McDevitt to clarify…

Spelunky 2’s first area might get patched so it’s easier

Spelunky 2 can be frustrating. It’s very rarely outright unfair, but it can test your patience and blood pressure when enemies, traps, physics, and bad luck combine into a perfect storm of death for your intrepid little adventurer. At times, it feels like Spelunky 2 absolutely hates you. The original Spelunky felt that way, too, but progression felt a little more sensible, with the early worlds being the easiest (relatively speaking) and later levels getting more and more difficult. In Spelunky 2, however, a number of players feel the earliest levels, called Dwelling (worlds 1-1 through 1-4) are actually more…

The 10 most popular Prime Day PC gaming deals so far

These deals were gathered from our big list of the best Amazon Prime Day deals, as well as our buying guides elsewhere on the site, and ranked according to how many PC Gamer readers have checked them out. They’re not all Amazon deals, as other retailers like to scooch in with their own deals during Prime Day, but they’re all good discounts on good products—or products that are good enough for the price, like the Evoo Ultra Thin, which we don’t recommend for gaming but will do just fine for researching and writing school papers. We’ve included some popular expired…

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are in Smite now, which raises a lot of questions

Smite is a third-person action Moba about battles between gods and godlike mythical figures. Any thing which has the aspects of a deity is prone to appear in the game. For example Cthulhu, a being which as a Great Old One is technically just shy of a deity proper, appeared in Smite this year. It was always a risk that by their power to choose what is and is not a deity the developers at Hi-Rez Studios’ Titan Forge Games would unleash upon our world a truth which man was not meant to know, but now… now that is a…

PUBG is getting a volcanic, dynamic map next week

Last week, PUBG Corp once again enlisted Jonathan ‘Commander Riker’ Frakes to narrate a second video for the studio’s battle royale, this time teasing a Peruvian city linked to the Fountain of Youth. This city, Paramo, will be appearing next week, with the launch of Season 9, and it sounds like a departure from the usual PUBG maps.  Over the weekend, more teasers appeared, showing a smouldering volcano and the promise of PUBG’s first dynamic map. As players parachuted in, we got a glimpse of different possibilities, depending on how pissed off the volcano is at the time.  Today those…

Infinity Ward say Warzone’s infinite stim exploit has been fixed

As well as the various aimbotters and wallhackers, players in Call of Duty: Warzone have been putting up with an exploit that could be used to gain infinite healing. Those who used the exploit would sit in the poison gas as the circle closed, jamming a bottomless supply of stims into their chests while waiting for everyone else to die off. Infinity Ward have now announced on Twitter that a fix has been deployed. Thank you again for your support and patience while we worked to resolve this issue. Magic school RPG Ikenfell is out now

Ikenfell raised CA$61,787 on Kickstarter back in 2016 based on the promise of a “JRPG with a mix of turn-based and timing-based battle mechanics with a heavy focus on characters and story”. After a significant delay, it’s finally been released this month. Ikenfell is an RPG set in a school for magic. As young student wizards you’ll get into trouble, explore its spooky halls, uncover secrets, find hidden treasure, and engage in turn-based spell battles with timing mechanics that might remind you of Paper Mario or Costume Quest or Mega Man Battle Network, depending on your background. It promises features…

American McGee almost put a 300 foot zombie in Quake

Sandy Petersen, one of the original four level designers of 1996 classic Quake, did a bit of reminiscing on Twitter about it today.  Specifically, about how Episodes 2 and 3 of Quake don’t have boss monsters—almost surely due to  time limitations around making more monsters. Petersen explained that he and American McGee tried to fill that gap using some creativity. They just… scaled up existing monster models to be huge. The idea was eventually denied by the art team because the scaled-up models looked terrible. McGee wanted to make a level based around a giant, 300-foot zombie that would require…
