Raja Koduri To Present at Samsung Foundry Event as Intel Mulls Outsourcing Strategy

Intel’s Raja Koduri is slated to present a “1000X More Compute for AI by 2025” presentation at Samsung’s Advanced Foundry Ecosystem (SAFE) Forum next week, which comes as Intel mulls its strategy for outsourcing some of its production to third-party fabs. The presentation comes after Raja Koduri tweeted an image of a visit to Samsung’s Giheung plant in Korea last year, sparking rumors that Intel would use Samsung to produce components for its Xe graphics solutions. Those rumors seemed spurious in the past, but Intel’s recent announcement that it will outsource some chip production, and this week’s revelation that the…

PUBG lore has been made easier to digest thanks to official new website

A new PUBG website has launched that collects years of the game’s history and lore into one easily navigable place.PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds is hailed by many players as one of the games that kicked off the battle royale craze that’s dominated much of the current generation, but in some ways, the game lagged behind its competitors as time went on.Where titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone managed to weave a story and progressive narrative elements into the game over time, PUBG instead remained focussed on its match-to-match focus, eschewing lore and a persistent story for a long time.Developer PUBG…

13 Common Security Mistakes That Make Your PC Vulnerable

We live in a world where we are digitally connected nearly 24/7. Even when we are not actually using our devices for work or paying bills or socializing with those we know, we can still be logged in permanently to our various online accounts.  This means that we are each exposed to cyber criminals on a constant and neverending basis, who can inflict catastrophic results upon us if we are not too careful. Unfortunately, too many people go about their lives believing that they are not truly at risk. This is largely because while people may be fully aware of…

Intel’s Iris Xe Max GPU Barely Beats Nvidia’s GeForce MX330 In Latest Benchmark

The Iris Xe Max (DG1) GPU, which is already shipping to OEMs, has graced the grounds of Geekbench 5. The submissions (via Tum_Apisak) show that the looming GPU’s performance is somewhere along the lines of AMD’s Radeon RX 550. Intel has been away from the discrete graphics market for a considerable amount of time now, and the Irix Xe Max marks the chipmaker’s return. The GPU comes equipped with 96 Execution Units (EUs) that boil down to 768 shader cores. The original Iris Xe Max test platform had the GPU with 3GB of GDDR6 memory. However, the same GPU has…

Pumpkin Jack Delivers Halloween Fun, Plus Ray Tracing and DLSS

Adoption of Nvidia’s ray tracing and DLSS technology is starting to pick up steam, thanks in no small part to increased support from Unreal Engine 4. Last week, Nvidia had a blog post about 12 games still set to release in 2020 that will include ray tracing and/or DLSS support. That’s in addition to the maybe dozen or so games that already support the technology. Some of these games are well-known titles, like Cyberpunk 2077 and Watch Dogs Legion. Others, not so much, but one that caught my eye was Pumpkin Jack, a solo developer effort that’s been in the…

Pull heists as a sentient spaceship in A Long Journey To An Uncertain End

Don’tcha know it’s illegal for spaceships to have consciousness ’round here? Set to take off sometime next year, A Long Journey To An Uncertain End is the galaxy-hopping debut from Crispy Creative, a narrative management space opera that seems to imagine a version of Cowboy Bebop where the eponymous starship had the final say in all the semi-legal shenanigans. And also one where Ein’s a hologram, I guess. (more…)

Among Us has been overrun by a politically-charged spam attack

Last weekend, Among Us was experiencing the highest of highs, with hundreds of thousands of eyes watching US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez face off against both streamers and a fellow politician in the spacey stab ’em up. Unfortunately for developers Innersloth, however, it didn’t take long for that high to come crashing down. This week saw a seemingly massive spam attack strike Among Us’ servers, locking up matches with threatening messages in what appears to be a far unfriendlier form of political activism. (more…)

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies Onslaught mode won’t be on PC for a year

Even up on our high, turbo-cooled horses, we PC folks are not so above the petty factionalism of console rivalry. With Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War just around the corner, Activision this week revealed that they’re once again locking a bonus Call Of Duty mode behind PlayStation 4 and 5 copies of the game for a year. This time, it’s Zombies Onslaught, a co-op horde mode that we’ll not be touching until November 1st at the earliest. (more…)

There’s nary a nip to be seen in The Dungeon Experience’s full reveal

Okay, so there may be one or two. But they’re not the focal point of the piece, which is more than could be said for Jacob Janerka’s previous attempt to snag wishlists for The Dungeon Experience. After failing to draw eyes on the game by way of viral embarrassment, the Aussie dev is trying a more traditional approach with a proper reveal trailer. Sometimes you’ve just gotta stick with what works, y’know? (more…)

Mesa provides implementations of other APIs, like OpenGL, OpenGL ES and OpenCL.
